The reform aims to improve the spatial conditions of an old house, very compartmentalized, with small and bright spaces.
The new layout unifies two rooms to make the living room larger, generates circulation around the wall that separates the living room from the hall, and creates a separate study for living room furniture.
The sliding door of the studio allows you to open the view of the façade and perceive it in its entire length, emphasizing the rhythm of the high openings of the house. Natural light is used to describe the spaces, a skylight is opened in the interior of the day area which zenithally illuminates the access area.
The old ceramic “rasilla” vaults of the ceiling are accentuated by the lighting of the ceiling spotlights and, painted white, it has a vibrant and modern texture. The ceiling of the studio can be seen from the living room through a glazed opening on the closet. The natural oak parquet is brushed and matt varnished to have a natural texture and pleasant to the touch.
